Barton Street Carpark Waterproofing

Barton Street Carpark
Waterproofing

About this Project

The Barton Street Car Park in Hamilton required a new waterproofing system after the existing membrane failed, allowing water to leak into the tenanted spaces below. The project called for a durable solution that would not only stop water ingress but also minimise disruption and allow the busy public car park to reopen as quickly as possible.

Topcoat Specialist Coatings delivered a comprehensive waterproofing solution across 1,650m² using the Altex Deckshield ED Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) system. Our team repaired surface cracks, treated control joints, installed a seismic joint waterproofing system over the ramp entry, and completed new line markings. The fast-curing Deckshield ED system was selected for its excellent crack-bridging performance, enabling the project to be completed and handed back to the client within just three weeks.

The result is a durable, high-performance waterproofing system that protects the structure from water ingress while providing long-term durability and simplified maintenance. With no recoating window required, the MMA system offers a reliable, cost-effective solution that will keep the car park performing for years to come.
